RMS entrance (Class 9): NTA changes the Social Science syllabus
NTA has revised the Social Science syllabus for the Class IX paper of the Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) entrance exam (corrigendum dated 6 November 2026). The syllabus for all other classes and subjects is unchanged. The revised syllabus follows 'Exploring Society: India and Beyond' Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1: Natural Resources and Their Use; Reshaping India's Political Map; The Rise of the Marathas; The Colonial Era in India; Universal Franchise and India's Electoral System; The Parliamentary System: Legislature and Executive; Factors of Production. Part 2: World Geography: Some Glimpses; India's Long Road to Independence; A Journey Through Indian Architecture; The Role of the Judiciary in our Society; Citizenship: Rights and Duties; Dynamics of Population; India's Urban Landscape; Cultural Currents: 13th to 17th Centuries. NTA's tentative exam calendar lists the RMS exam on 13 December 2026.

What to do
- If your child applied for Class 9 in a Rashtriya Military School, prepare Social Science from the revised chapter list above.
- Open the NTA corrigendum and revised syllabus on nta.ac.in to check the list yourself.
- Class 6 candidates and other Class 9 subjects: no change.
