Why schools want a parent login

Most calls to a school office are the same few questions: Was my child present today? What is the timetable? How much fee is still due? Each call takes a few minutes, and the answer is already written down somewhere in the office.

A parent login lets parents look up those answers themselves. The office answers fewer routine calls, and parents get the answer at any hour instead of waiting for office time.

How parent login works in EduTechMonitor

1. The parent's mobile number is in the student record. When a student is admitted or imported into EduTechMonitor, the parent's mobile number is saved in that student's record. See admissions and student records.

2. The parent logs in with a one-time password. The parent enters that mobile number, receives a one-time password by SMS and enters it. There is no username or password to forget or reset.

3. The parent sees their own child's details. After logging in, the parent sees their child's attendance, the class timetable and the child's fees. Each parent sees only their own child, never other students.

4. It updates as the school works. When a teacher marks attendance or the office records a fee payment, the parent sees it the next time they log in. Parents who use our Android app also get a notification when attendance is marked, and see homework, notices and published exam results there.

What works today, and what is not available yet

We list the gaps on purpose. If your parents expect online fee payment, SMS alerts or an iPhone app on day one, it is better you hear that from us before a demo than after you pay.

Getting parents started

The parent login only works as well as the mobile numbers in your records. Before you go live:

• Check every student's parent mobile number. Our guide How to import student data from Excel shows how to prepare the sheet.
• Tell parents which number is registered, and that the login code comes by SMS to that number.
• Send parents the web address once, for example in the school's existing parent group or on a printed note. They can save it on their phone's home screen.

Part of the full school software

Parent login is one part of EduTechMonitor, the school management software made by Sajre Edutech in Dharwad, Karnataka. It uses the same student records as attendance, fees and receipts, class timetables and staff records. Price, refund and support

EduTechMonitor has three plans: ₹1 (Basic), ₹2 (Standard) or ₹3 (Premium) per student per day, GST included. Today every plan includes all the working features listed here. What each plan adds is being finalised; we confirm your plan in the demo. The full feature list is on our school management software page. There is no free trial. Instead, if it doesn't suit you, ask for a full refund within 21 days of your first payment.

Support is by phone, WhatsApp and email, Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm IST, and we reply within one working day. When something can't be fixed over the phone, our Dharwad team visits by appointment.
